Step by step
- PlantingPlant the bulbs 2–3× as deep as the bulb is tall, with the tip facing up. Give them well-draining soil.
- GrowingWater sparingly in winter. In frost, a layer of leaves or compost protects the bulbs.
- BloomingIn April and May. Remove faded flowers, but leave the foliage until it has yellowed.
- After floweringLet the foliage die back naturally — this feeds the bulb for next year. Optionally lift and store dry.
